ESIA: Acronym of European Security Intelligence Agency, is an Intelligence Agency to support NATO activities. Its mission is to provide support to Governments and Institutions, both military and civilians, to contribute to the stabilisation of territories in which is present, giving top priority to security in every sector it’s responsible for, from the military to the socio-humanitarian field, included cyber security and multimedia.

The Chief of Staff

Under the coordination of the General Commander, Gen. Pietro Passariello, and the Army Staff, the organisational chart includes a qualified team that allows fast and precise interventions in every sector of strategic interest.

The Commander General Dr. Pietro Passariello, based in Malta, is Chief Operations Officer at E.S.I.A Ngo Malta to the UN. Hi brings experience from previous roles at E.S.I.A Malta Nato Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) and NGO Working Group Peace and Security UNGM ONU.

He is a Grand Academic and holds a Doctor Academy of Political Science and International Relation, and a Doctor in Military and Intelligence Sciences of Saint Nicholas Moscow University Imperial Academy. Honorary Military Arbitration Judge at the INT International Nobiliary Tribunal of Bari Italy, New York. Knight Grand Cross of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Moscow, Russian Knights of Malta.

MALTA, La Valletta, October 14, 2017 - An important ceremony was held on the picturesque island of Malta, coordinated by ESIA Malta representative Philip M. Chircop.
In the presence of Commander General Dr. Pietro Passariello, and the Army Staff General Prof. Orazio Mezzetti, with senior leaders of the organization, ESIA, NATO's support agency, honored the distinguished merits of the Maltese President with its first international award.

With the lively and solemn participation of several prominent figures in the Maltese political scene, such as the Honourable Antony Agius Decelius, Secretary of Parliament and of the Ministry of Family and Social Solidarity, and the Mayor of Santa Venera, Dr. Stephen Sultana, the President of the Republic of Malta, Maria Louise Coleiro Preca, was officially awarded the diploma of appointment as "Diplomatic Council Member" of ESIA – Malta, crowning her high professionalism, commendable ability, and exemplary moral character in her humanitarian work.

The European Union does not possess a centralizated, indipendent spy agency similar to the CIA or MI6. Instead, national security remains the sovereign responsability of individual member states. However, the EU operates several centralized analysis and law enforcement coordination agencies to pool intelligence and combat cross-border threats.
